Karatedo
Sensei Warren Better has been teaching a traditional Japanese Karate (Shorinjiryu Kenkokan Karatedo) for the Catonsville Recreation and Parks for around 50 years and is currently a 8th degree black belt. Sensei Better competed in Japan in 1996 where he received his 3rd degree black belt from the head of the style Hanshi Masayuki Hisataka. Sensei Better participated in tournaments, clinics, and seminars in Australia, Portugal, Canada, and the USA with Hanshi Masayuki Hisataka. We are also associated with the international World Koshiki Karatedo Union (WKKU) and members of the ‘World Alliance of Shorinjiryu Karatedo (WASK)’. Students will learn through systematic training – discipline, respect for themselves and others, self defense, physical fitness, and good manners. This being a hard and soft style means that the weak and strong, young and old, women and men can train equally to be good karate practitioners.
